Bai Tu Long is in the northeast of, and has remained an unexplored area of, Halong Bay. However, it is often thought even more stunning than main bay itself, and lately it has become one of the top off the beaten track destinations in North Vietnam.
Geographically Bai Tu Long Bay is similar in every aspect to its more famous cousin, but where it beats Halong Bay is in the fact that as a travel destination, it is very much in its infancy. This is absolutely how one should experience this type of nature. The majesty and spectacular nature of the hundreds of karst formations are better enjoyed in the peace that nature intended.
Swimming in the jade green waters of the bay is a big thrill. For those fit and brave enough diving from the top of your boat is a challenge and one that many find invigorating.
For the even more adventurous the bay offers the chance of superb rock climbing.
There are some extremely good areas for kayaking here and your guide will take you to exciting hidden bays, lagoons and tunnels. The karst formations present an even more exciting vista from this low perspective in the water.
Attractions includes Thien Canh Son Cave, Vung Vieng Floating Village, Ban Chan Beach, Cong Do area.
