Extremely professional and excellently managed. The cabin was fantastic, featuring a spacious and cozy bed, and the bathroom was stunning with a tub offering views of the sea! The crew members were incredibly welcoming, with our designated host, Victor Black, being particularly outstanding. The cuisine was top-notch, whether it was the buffet lunch or the exquisite five-course dinner, and everything in the middle was delightful. They also hosted a “Happy Hour” that lasted well beyond an hour. The cost of drinks was quite affordable too.

We spent our anniversary aboard The La Casta Regal Cruise, billed as a “5 STAR LUXURY CRUISE.” The service, food, and cleanliness were disappointing. We started our day with fellow passengers by the jacuzzi, while others were at the beach. After about three hours, we had to search all over the ship in our wetsuits for staff to serve us, eventually finding someone downstairs who was smoking. We mentioned needing a bartender at the jacuzzi, and later raised the issue with the general manager. He assured us they would improve their service and apologized. However, the bartender left right after, and we had to search for assistance again. Speaking with the manager once more yielded the same empty promise that they would do better, yet the bar remained unattended. We ended up ordering canned beer to avoid running up and down the ship every time we wanted a drink. The food was mediocre and not what one would expect for the hefty price of a one-night stay on a supposed luxury cruise. The WiFi was weak, and the windows by the bathtub were so filthy that they obscured the view. Other guests mentioned similar issues, so it wasn’t just our room. The toilets didn’t flush properly, leaving unpleasant odors in our room, and despite notifying staff, the issue was never resolved. We had to use the public restrooms at the restaurant. Additionally, there was a lot of trash in the water, and while I understand this isn’t entirely the cruise’s fault, it would be nice if a portion of the high cruise fare went towards environmental efforts. Overall, the experience fell short of expectations, especially for the $350 + $80 for drinks we paid. It’s disappointing to think of what we could have enjoyed for the same price. After the cruise, we complained again and were offered a voucher for a cruise next year, which we have no intention of using. It’s unfortunate that our anniversary was marred by such a poor experience, and we can’t recover the day or the money. I wouldn’t recommend this cruise; there are far better options for your money.

We embarked on this vessel for a cruise around Ha Long Bay, opting for a suite that offered a 180° panoramic view and a terrace. The cabin was stunningly beautiful, featuring a round bed and a whirlpool bath, complemented by breathtaking views. Everything was spotlessly clean, the food was excellent, and the hiking activities were plentiful. I highly suggest trying kayaking at sunrise.

Our journey cruising through Halong Bay was absolutely fantastic! The team on board was incredibly welcoming and supportive, and the meals were mouthwatering, not to mention the breathtaking scenery… We can’t recommend this experience enough. Son, in particular, was an outstanding member of the crew—he truly deserves a promotion!

With countless cruise options available, it’s no wonder that many vessels focus on a small section of Halong Bay for their routes. This specific ship departs from Tuan Chau Island (like the rest) and primarily navigates the numerous Karsts situated north of Cat Ba Island, essentially weaving back and forth. Typically, guests embark on a 1-night/2-day journey (24hr-12pm-12pm), but we opted for a 2-night/3-day experience (48hr). This allowed us, along with others on similar itineraries, to be transferred to a smaller boat for day activities while the 1-night guests returned. Our main activity was cycling to a village on Cat Ba Island followed by a planned visit to Bright Cave, though the low tide prevented us from accessing it. Other activities included kayaking and swimming. We later returned to the main cruise with new fellow passengers. Overall, it’s a pricey adventure, but the breathtaking scenery makes it worthwhile. Although you’ll see numerous other boats, they don’t impact your experience significantly. We’re happy we chose this trip. My sole advice is to double-check the itinerary since not all cruises offer the same activities.
