I’m a bit of a cruise skeptic, but Indochine won me over. I booked through HalongHub and Hannah made it easy with quick responses and real answers. The boat has a quiet, elegant charm and the wooden interiors make it feel far from the steel-and-glass modern ships. Our cabin was spotless, with a comfy bed and big window right next to the sea. We loved the relaxed pace, enough activities like kayaking and a cave visit, but also long breaks to enjoy coffee on the deck. The food wasn’t Michelin-starred, but it was tasty and served with care. I especially liked the breakfast pho and Vietnamese iced coffee. The whole experience was just peaceful and genuine. If you’re after a calm, comfortable, no-fuss way to see the bay, this is a great choice.

The entire cruise from check-in to disembarkation was smooth. Hannah booked everything for us, including round-trip transfers, and it all went according to plan. Indochine Cruise has a warm, traditional atmosphere that reminded me of an old river steamer, but with modern touches like air conditioning and hot showers. Our suite had a private terrace which was perfect for morning coffee. We kayaked in a calm bay with almost no other boats around. The crew kept us safe and were very organized. Meals had a nice mix of Vietnamese and Western flavors, and they managed to adjust one dish for my dietary restriction with no issue. We enjoyed chatting with other travelers over drinks before dinner. No karaoke, no loud groups, just good company and scenery. Worth every penny.
We joined Indochine Cruise on a cool February morning, and from the start it felt well-organized and peaceful. The staff at the pier were easy to find, and the transfer from Hanoi was efficient. Once on board, we were greeted with welcome drinks and given a short safety briefing. Our cabin was classic and clean with a wide window where we could sit and watch the bay in silence. The kayaking was safe and simple, with enough time to explore the calm lagoons. Dinner included fresh seafood, tender chicken, and a veggie option for my partner. Afterward, there was squid fishing, which was more fun than I expected, even though we didn’t catch anything. Hannah at HalongHub had recommended this boat because we didn’t want something too flashy or rushed, and she was right. I’d call this the perfect balance of comfort, culture, and natural beauty.
I think what sets Indochine Cruise apart is the atmosphere. It’s quiet without being dull, classic without feeling outdated. Our room had big windows that opened to the bay, and the bed was honestly more comfortable than what we had at our hotel in Hanoi. The staff were respectful and attentive, always ready with tea, a smile, or assistance during activities. Kayaking was smooth and not rushed, and the cave visit was short but scenic. I appreciated that we had time between activities to rest or just enjoy the view. Hannah helped us choose this cruise after I said we didn’t want a party boat or something overly luxurious, and her recommendation was perfect. Great for couples or older travelers.
Indochine Cruise was perfect for our little family getaway. We traveled with our teenage son and everyone found something to enjoy. The room setup was great, we got two cabins next to each other, and the crew kindly opened the connecting balcony so we could share the view. The staff were very friendly and took extra care during activities like kayaking and the cave walk. Meals were well-portioned and kid-friendly while still giving us a taste of Vietnamese dishes. I liked that there was enough free time between activities to relax. The boat felt clean and safe, and we didn’t experience any motion discomfort, which was a relief. Hannah, who helped us book, followed up the day before departure and sent the itinerary clearly, no last-minute surprises. For families who want comfort without overpaying for a luxury line, this cruise strikes a really nice balance.
This cruise felt like a step into another world. Indochine isn’t flashy, but it’s rich in atmosphere. The ship is full of dark wood, cozy lighting, and quiet spaces that encourage you to slow down. Our cabin was bigger than expected, and we had a beautiful view of the bay even from the bathroom. Activities were spaced out nicely, we didn’t feel rushed or like we were ticking boxes. Kayaking in the afternoon was peaceful, and the limestone formations looked like something from a painting. Hannah made the booking process super easy and even helped us upgrade our room last minute. One night was just right for us, though if we had more time I would’ve stayed two. If you’re after something scenic, unhurried, and classy, Indochine is a solid pick.
Celebrated my birthday on Indochine Cruise and it couldn’t have been better. I mentioned the date during booking, and to my surprise, the crew brought out a small cake and sang after dinner. It was such a kind gesture and really made my night. The whole trip had a relaxing rhythm, nothing felt forced. We had time to enjoy the sun on the deck, try our hand at kayaking, and even read a book with the bay drifting by in the background. Food was a highlight, especially the spring rolls and grilled prawns. The room had a strong AC and lovely wooden design, and the bed was super comfortable. Hannah from HalongHub suggested this cruise after asking us what we valued most, peace and scenery, and this checked both boxes. I’d absolutely book again.
Hannah was amazing in helping us find a cruise that was less crowded and more traditional, and Indochine turned out to be ideal. From the moment we boarded, the crew made us feel like VIPs. Our cabin wasn’t huge, but it was spotless and had a panoramic window that framed the cliffs beautifully. The cruise included kayaking, which was easy even for first-timers like us, and a visit to a cave that wasn’t overrun with tourists. Dinner was served course by course and every dish was explained in English. We liked that there was no loud music or big announcements, just soft background music and peaceful surroundings. At night, we sat on the deck and listened to the water lapping the boat. Honestly, it was one of the most relaxing travel experiences I’ve ever had.
What made Indochine Cruise stand out to me was how quietly elegant everything felt. The staff were attentive but not in your face, and the ship itself had this nostalgic style that made the bay feel even more special. The check-in process was quick, and within 20 minutes of arriving, we were enjoying tea and views from the deck. The itinerary included kayaking, a cave tour, and a brief cooking session, all of which felt like optional bonuses rather than obligations. Our room had a comfortable bed and a decent-sized bathroom, and it was quiet at night, no engine noise or party groups. We booked with HalongHub and Hannah handled it all with care. She even sent a message to confirm we got back to Hanoi safely, which I appreciated.
Even though it rained part of the day, the cruise still felt magical. The mist gave Lan Ha Bay a mystical look, and it made sitting on the deck with a cup of tea even better. Our cabin was cozy, with warm lighting and a rain shower that worked perfectly after a chilly afternoon kayaking. The food was hearty and comforting, and the staff made sure we were dry and warm the whole time. Hannah had mentioned in advance that the weather could be unpredictable, so we came prepared, and I’m glad we still went. This cruise suits people who want to lean into the calm rather than rush through activities. It’s not flashy, but it’s quietly wonderful.
